We Need Your Help to Spread Some Christmas Cheer!

St. Therese Parish is working to provide Christmas Boxes and shower kits for the families served by Mary’s Place and Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis.

Here are Some Ways You Can Help:

1. Buy some goodies at our Christmas Box Project bake sale after Masses on December 7-8. Proceeds from this sale will be used to purchase the blankets and laundry pods needed to fill out the Christmas boxes.

2. Donate $ for items in the boxes and kits and we’ll do the shopping. Donations may be made after Masses December 7-8 or at any time in the parish office. Please note Christmas Box Project on the memo line of check and make check payable to “St. Therese.” Note that each completed Christmas Box has a value of about $97 and our goal is to prepare 100 of these boxes for the families living at Mary’s Place in Minneapolis.

3. Purchase and donate items for the boxes and shower kits (see specific lists below). Drop off your donations in the bins in the main church entry by the weekend of December 7-8.

4. Assemble a Christmas Box and/or shower kit at home and bring it in by December 7-8. Note below a very specific list of items that are included in the Christmas Box and shower kit. Please follow this list carefully when prepping your box or shower kit.

We appreciate as many items as you wish to donate! Faith Formation families will pack the boxes and kits with the donated items on December 11. Thank you!

What’s in a Christmas Box?

1 CUB Foods tote box (assemble everything to fit inside the box)

1 NEW blanket (queen size or smaller)

1 pkg. of Laundry Pods, about 35-45 pods in the package

1 pack of Toilet Paper (6-8 rolls per package)

1 Large container of Peanut Butter (40 oz)

1 Large SQUEEZE Jelly (20 oz) (No glass)

2 large cans of Prepared Soup (20 oz)

2 large cans of canned Meat (7 oz)

1 Bag Rice (32 oz)

2 packages of Spaghetti/Pasta noodles (16 oz)

1 large container of Pasta Sauce (No glass) (45 oz)

2 cans Fruit (15 oz)

2 cans Vegetables (15 oz)

3 boxes of Macaroni & Cheese (7.25 Oz)

1 package of Chocolate treats

What’s in a Shower Kit?

1-gallon Ziplock bag (everything below must fit inside this bag when closed)

Small hand towel            Small washcloth         Tooth Brush

Razor                Dental Floss      Lip Balm        

TRAVEL SIZES ONLY of the following items:

Shampoo                Conditioner     Shave Cream

Body Lotion            Body Wash / Bar Soap

Deodorant              Toothpaste      Hand Sanitizer 

The Giving Tree

Please take a tag or two from the trees in the Gathering Space (or shop online—see below) and purchase a gift this Advent for someone less fortunate.

Please attach the tag to your UNWRAPPED gift and leave in the bin by the trees in the Gathering Space by December 10. THANK YOU!
