Little Flower Chapel Update: As of 9/29/2026
We’re getting closer! Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to restore and renew our beloved Little Flower Chapel. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes throughout the summer, and we’re excited to share some of the progress!
We are right now looking at having the Chapel open for adoration on Tuesday, October 20th.
In Process Tasks
Stained Glass Update
Our beautiful stained-glass windows have all been carefully removed and sent to a specialty manufacturer for restoration.
The windows are receiving the attention and care they need before making their way back home to the Chapel. We currently anticipate having the restored stained glass reinstalled in late November 2026.
We can’t wait to see these beautiful pieces back where they belong!
Stations of the Cross
We’re also excited to have received new Stations of the Cross for the Chapel!
Installation is expected to take place over the next month as the renovation work begins to wrap up. These new Stations will be a beautiful addition to the renewed Chapel and help create a prayerful space for reflection.
Fresh paint
We hope to have a new coat of paint on the walls completed by October 9th 2026
Moving Alter
We will be moving the 4,000lbs alter back in place by the end of the week October 16th 2026
Completed Work
Window
The Chapel’s windows are already looking and performing better than ever!
We have successfully installed new metal window frames and triple-pane glass, providing significantly improved thermal protection against Minnesota’s temperature swings throughout the year.
The original wood frames had deteriorated over time, and the old single-pane glass provided very little insulation. Replacing these components will help protect the Chapel while creating a much more comfortable environment for years to come.
Flooring
The old carpet has been removed, and new tile is being installed throughout the Chapel.
Work is progressing nicely, and we anticipate the tile installation being completed within the next couple of weeks. Be sure to check out the photo below to see the progress!
Additional Completed work
Chapel entrance doors and Sacristy doors: Sound proof glass is being installed over the next week
Further sound proofing: We found an area that is letting in a lot of sound from the entrance. We plan to enclose this opening to further reduce sound coming in from the entrance (by the baptism font) while we have adoration going on.
Almost Home
There is still work to be done, but we’re seeing exciting progress every week. Thank you for your patience, prayers, and understanding throughout this renovation.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back into the Little Flower Chapel soon!
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to reopening.
