Welcome to the St. Therese Confirmation program. We are dedicated to helping your son or daughter grow in their relationship with Jesus and love for His Church as they prepare for this holy Sacrament. Through the Confirmation process, we will teach your youth about Christ, His Church, and His Sacraments; lead them to encounter Christ through worship; challenge them to discover their God-given gifts and the vocations to which God calls them; give them vital tools to deepen their life of prayer; introduce them to a vision for a full life in Christ; and form them into a community of disciples prepared for Jesus’ mission in the world.
We pray that through this preparation your son or daughter will find a home and purpose in the Church as they are conformed to Jesus’ heart.
Before joining our Confirmation program, candidates must:
- Be in ninth grade or older
- Have received First Communion and First Reconciliation
- Have successfully completed Ascend, the first year of Confirmation preparation at St. Therese, or its equivalent, including attendance at a Catholic school
- Be regularly practicing the Catholic faith, including weekend Mass attendance
- Weekly Sunday Mass, daily prayer, and regular Scripture reading — the foundation of Christian life.
- Embark — candidates take part in our Wednesday evening high school Faith Formation program to learn more about the faith and grow in community with their peers.
- Sunday Confirmation sessions — once a month, candidates and their sponsors gather to discuss topics specific to the Sacrament, with lunch served.
- Home study — candidates and sponsors read from the YouCat Confirmation book, a teen-friendly guide to the Catholic faith and Confirmation, and complete brief reflections together.
- Retreat — an overnight retreat gives teens extended time for prayer, reflection, and community away from daily distractions.
- Interviews — brief check-in and final conversations with Faith Formation staff help candidates reflect on their preparation.
- Letter to Fr. Andrie — ahead of Confirmation, each candidate writes a brief letter formally requesting the Sacrament.
- Start with the online form: St. Therese Faith Formation Registration.
- Complete the Confirmation Intake Packet (2026-27), reading it carefully.
- Along the way you will use the intake forms: Sponsor Form, Student Reflection, and Parent Reflection.
- Hand in or mail the completed packet to the parish office. Registration is complete when the packet is submitted.
