Our Parish

Welcome to St. Therese in Deephaven. We are a community of faith, hope, and love serving our parish, our school, and our neighbors: one parish family gathered around the Eucharist and sent out to love as Christ loves.

Whether you have worshiped here for decades, are returning to the Church after time away, or are simply curious about the Catholic faith, there is a place for you here.

Who we are

St. Therese is a Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, home to a vibrant parish community and a parochial school serving families from Deephaven and the surrounding communities. Our life together centers on the Mass, the Sacraments, and more than 60 active ministries where parishioners of every age pray, serve, and grow in faith.

Our mission and vision

Our mission. St. Therese strives to love Jesus and to make Him loved.

Our vision. By God’s grace, we form saints who know, love, and serve Jesus through evangelization, education and service.

What we value

Christ Centered. Rooted in the Eucharist, we place Jesus at the center of our lives, seeking Him in prayer and the sacraments and sharing His love so that all may encounter Him and become saints.

Joy. We live the joy of Christ through vibrant worship, caring community, enthusiastic participation, and a welcoming spirit that fills our parish with energy and belonging.

Integrity. We live with integrity by acting with honesty, transparency, and courage, ensuring our words and actions align so trust and authentic growth can flourish.

Service. We serve with great love by boldly inviting and empowering others to share their gifts in our parish and through outreach to those in need in our community.

Warmth. We embody warmth by welcoming each person by name, offering genuine hospitality and heartfelt connection at Mass and in community, so all feel loved, known, and that they truly belong.

Our patroness

Our parish bears the name of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the young French Carmelite known as the Little Flower. Thérèse taught what she called her “little way,” not doing great works, but doing little things with great love, trusting entirely in the mercy of God. She was canonized in 1925 and later declared a Doctor of the Church. Her words remain a daily invitation to us:

“Let us love, since that is what our hearts were made for.” (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)

Meet our pastor

Fr. Leonard Andrie has served as pastor of St. Therese since 2016. A Minnesota native, Fr. Andrie graduated from the University of Notre Dame and worked in finance in downtown Minneapolis before answering the call to the priesthood. Along the way he earned graduate degrees in Catholic Studies, Education, Divinity, and Theology, and spent two years teaching in Catholic and public schools. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in 2013 and served as parochial vicar at St. Joseph in West St. Paul and as a high school chaplain before coming to Deephaven. He is humbled to serve at St. Therese, working to build a joyful and faith-filled community rooted in the love and mercy of Christ.

Fr. Andrie is joined by Deacon John Allgaier. You can reach our full team on the Staff Directory page.
